"A Saturday"--Helpless Day in Delhi

Few dayz back I have written a review of a movie "A Wednesday".The movie was based on the frustation and fight of a common man against terrorism. But, God has planned something different for me . The Almighty tried to show me the real one .
On 13 Sep 2008 ,I was just 100 mtrs away from the blast site near Barakhambha Road, cannaught Place , New delhi.I went to CP to purchase a TT bat from Bajaj Sports.Just 15 minutes prior to my visit to Bajaj Sports ,I was going through Central Park where blast happened. While travelling through Central Park I saw a sport shop with name Gupta Sports .I thought I should get down there .But because of good deal I was sure to get at Bajaj shop, I decided to continue.I saw few Coupals there in Central park. They were all 25 something yrs old.It was a slightly cool evening as weather is changing rapidally in this part of country. No body thought terrorist can attack here .
After my shopping of TT bat ,I decided to move towards my home.I decided to take a new green bus from bus stop. There are two bus stops near to Bajaj Sports towards Barakhambha. One is near to Super Market and another is at Barakhambha Metro station.I was having a backache at that time ,so I quit the plan to visit Central Park or anywhere in CP.I headed towards my home.
I was not getting any bus from the first stop. The bus numbers 520, 620 and 604 were frequent. But there were no 85, 355.Suddenly I got a call from Neetu and she broke the news of bomb blast in Gaffar Market, KarolBag few minutes back.I become alert and started sharing the news with my nearby people who were also waiting for bus.I knew from the past experience of B-Banglore, A-Ahmedabad, D-delhi that it could be a serial blast.I decided to take an auto instead of bus.I tried but didnt succeed.I moved towards Gopaldas building near to Barakhambha Road to catch an auto. This place is 125 odd meters away from blast site.We normally take any auto or buses for Pandav Nagar from the site where blast happened. Fortunately I decided not to travel that far. At 6:32 PM there was a huge blast .It was so strong that I felt no noise for the next two minutes.I was shocked for 2 minutes and then ran towards blast site for help the injured. But police on that day was so active that they reached before people can reach and started relief work.I saw few torned dead bodies there. Police was doing everything to keep us away from that point fearing there could be more bombs. I saw the damaged dustbin. The bombs were with possibly lots of small bullets which made small holes in the plastic dustbin.Rescue work done by police was very swift and then they evacuated the place completely.Dead bodies as well as injured were sent to hospital immediately.Autowallas were helpful and they were carrying injured without taking a penny.Unable to help anyone I decided to move to home to make myself safe. Was not getting any auto I have taken a DTC 85 number and headed towards home. But there was a fear installed in me and I was continuously shouting in the Bus "Please look below your seat.Save yourself.Don't take it lightly." Not all were informed that there was three bomb blast took place at different locations . Fearing serial blasts they tried to search below their seats as a precautions. After 1 hour taking a different route bus reached at the destination.I thanked God !!.
Later I have seen those couples and dead bodies on TV.
"A Wednesday " truly reflects the frustation of "Common Man" on "A Saturday."
The politicians has a habbit of repeating the same line again and again after each blast .But, despite being informed about the blasts the Govt hardly taken any measures. A capital is not safe ?Politicians are responsible for these kind of activities. They can sell their motherland for their purpose. This 70+ yrs old Home Minister should be ................ .

Review-- A Wednesday

Powered by: Chakpak.com A Wednesday !

Films about terrorists holding a city to ransom aren't new. It's a theme that's been exploited many times over in the movies, especially in standard Hollywood action films like the Die Hard series.
But the kind of subject A Wednesday deals, was untouched till the movie arrived.
One day Commissioner of Police of Mumbai received a phone call from stranger for releasing four terrorist otherwise the person will explode all the bombs he planted at different locations. On a Wednesday he has given 4 hrs to police to complete the task of accumulating all four terrorist at the place of his choice .For confirmation that he is a terrorist, the stranger has planted a bomb inside a police station as well.Police found the bomb and confirms that this guy is not an ordinary caller and can be really destructive. He uses technology to fool police about his hiding location. He uses media to keep an eye on what is the impact there in middle due to his phone call,Is police actually doing what he wanted? Ultimately he manage to keep police on their toes and four militants were reached where the stranger wanted. Now when we were thinking that any plane would come and all four militants would flee,Suddenly a phone call come from the stranger to the militants and that phone was linked to the bombs .One of the militants pick the phone and bomb explodes. 3 out of four militants died on the spot. The plots unveils the awesome climax . That stranger happens to be a common man and he was frustrated with the fact that militants are the master of their lives and militants can kill a common man anytime.Police is either not able to catch the militant or even after catching militants ,they somehow manage to come out with the help of their peers or laws take 10-15 yrs to complete the process of judgment. The stranger aka common man create a plot to kill all four most dangerous militants.

The story is binding. The script is tight, dialouges are fabulous . The first time Writer and Director Neeraj Pandey did the awesome job.Naseeruddin Shah as a common man who chooses the bold path to finish the terrorists and symbolizes the pain of common man.He has shown the world again that, why he is one of the best actor India has ever produced. He doesn't bagged the limelight though his character was most central. He perfectly symbolizes a common man.Anupam Kher as CP of Mumbai did justice to his role.He has done a brilliant job. But the amidst these two stalwarts Jimi Shergill manages to steal the show ,which is itself a big thing to happen.Aamir Bashir as Jay Singh did a fabulous job.Deepal Shaw was not having much to do in this movie.
The real hero of this movie is Writer and Director Neeraj Pandey. The film has some minor flaws which are ignorable .
Written and directed by Neeraj Pandey, A Wednesday is an engaging thriller with a twist that's more dramatic and unpredictable than anything you're likely to imagine.
I would give this movie 3.5/5 .

A Parantha episode

Cab reaches the Pick point at 8:10 AM .In comes Santosh , A person who is always late by at least two minutes.Reason- Unknown till the News broke that he has something gud in his kitty. He sat on the back seat of our CAB .As usual he gives his lunch box to Sachin to keep it on front seat. Sachin sits in front seat with Manu bhai(Saarthi of our CAB).While the Lunch Box was passing through middle seat someone said that 'Aloo ke paranthe'.And who can say this thing except Rahul S.He has a ability which is unique in human being. He has strong smell sense.Anywayz Rahul took the lunch box in his hand and given his very emotional reaction(I am Loving it kind of) towards aloo ke paranthe.I guess he has already made up his mind to finish all 6 paranthas. But he has started with one. He started asking others as well.As usual Sachin didn't said no and Prabhat said no.I think Prabhat has some problems in eating. He has shortage of mouth water which makes difficult for him to swallow anything.Food scares him.A few seconds later an unwanted noises were coming from Sachin's mouth .I think he swallowed more in excitement and didn't managed it properly. But,soon he was ready for the next bite with same enthu .He shows uncompromising zeal towards food.Akshat was showing balancing act towards paranthe. But,he was feeling like "Oh no!!!". He was muttering "I could have managed to eat at least two in Lunch time while sitting with Santosh, but here I will be getting only few bites" .Damn it !! Rahul has grabbed the all.
Rahul started to eat 4rth parantha ,though he has already declared two would be enough. He was distributing it wisely to others so that everybody should be involved and Santosh shouldn't feel bad.He was constantly praising the paranthas. But,truly paranthas were gr8.That is why all 6 were finished .In the end Manu bhai given a comment "Ye der se aane ki saja thi ki appke saare paranthe khatm ho gaye".Later Santosh has given some tips on Judo and as usual he claimed that he is "purple belt" in judo.He has different sense of commenting, a lazy one.
Later we have discovered it was time taken to pack the paranthas which causes late coming.Kudos to mouth watering Santosh parantha,A new brand has arrived in market.

Kosi-----Not a Sorrow of Bihar,made by Govt.

"Kosi-----The Sorrow of Bihar"

This phrase was coined by a British tax-collector who found it difficult to collect his quota of revenue from this area.People living nearby Kosi do not consider it as a sorrow. They rather worship it.

The Kosi river basin in Bihar is facing its biggest ever flood disaster. The disaster is completely due to the neglect of the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. It is actually a man -made disaster which could have been avoided.

Govt of India has declared it as "National Calamity".More than two millions people are suffering.Government of India and Bihar are doing relief work as it is favoring people that too in hapzards and unplanned manner.

Most of Kosi water is flowing through the breach in the embankment that started with a small, few metres-wide breach on the eastern side, in the afternoon of August 18. This water is flowing through three of the 15 old streams of the Kosi river, namely Sursar, Mirchaiya and Belahi. This water is entering an area that does not have the capacity to drain that much of water.

What are the bottlenecks to be identified?

The longer the water remains in this area of flooding, more damaging would it be for the people and the state.

Similarly, it is important to ensure that the Kosi is able to drain out its water into the Ganga. But the Ganga flows this time of year and actually flowing above the danger mark at Sahibganj (Jharkhand) and Farakka (West Bengal), as per the Central Water Commission's (Government of India) flood forecasting site for almost two months now and is further rising.

The barrage on the Kosi river, just before it enters India was built under the 1954 Indo-Nepal Treaty. It is Government of India's responsibility for the proper operation and maintenance of the barrage and long embankment on both sides of the river . In the afternoon of August 18, when the embankment breached, the flow of water was lower than its expected capacity. The fact that the embankment breached at such a low flow compared to the design capacity speaks volumes about the abysmal state of maintenance of the embankment. The statement from the Indian embassy in Kathmandu that Nepal did not cooperate in ensuring timely maintenance is adding insult to the grave catastrophe.

The monsoon in this part of Bihar comes in early June. And the repair and maintenance of the embankment is supposed to be completed before the monsoon arrival. The Govt of India should have ensured that the maintenance is done before the required date, at least for the sake of the two million people of Bihar and Nepal. That was not done.

The pressure on the breached site on the embankment was clearly visible from August 5 onwards. Even at this stage,if the Government of India had used all its powers to ensure proper maintenance, the disaster could have been avoided. That too was not done.

It was apparent that Kosi is set to take the path which has least resistance and it was the old path. And destruction is there because kosi has taken its old path. But neither Govt. of India nor Nepal Govt woke up on 18th Aug.If the Govt. was woken then more planned evacuation was possible. Both the Govt has wasted time. In this cause Govt. of India is more responsible.
The option of big reservoir is also a false hope.

So what should be done to ensure that this calamity should not happen again.
Only one thing I see that both Govt. of India and Govt. of Bihar should be honest to the responsibility they have taken to protect their people from these kind of self generated pity. Officials should be fired for their irresponsible behavior. They are not there just to make statement .They have to do everything to ensure timely work.

I think Govt of India is more responsible for this "calamity" which they have declared "National Calamity".It was initially British who called it "Sorrow of Bihar" and now Indian govt justified it with their abysmal effort.
